There's a hole outside of your mystery It's a hole that I could never fill And I want you to know right now, now more than ever That my wanting is gonna get me killed to get me over your thrills I tried to write you, write you a new song But the words were never loud, they didn't sound any clearer Lately I try and start every day in a new way To find a place I've never been, find a chord A chord I can sing in Ooh, gonna write you a new song So many keys I can't even hold the one When you give a man his choices, man, he act so dumb And that hole just grows from his heart, down his liver, into his toes And he push and pull himself back straight until he's done for good Ooh, gonna write you a new song Find a place I've never been With a chord I can sing in

The Brakes 04:09
I pull the brake but I go anyway You can't stop a thing that's alive for heaven's sake, it's alive We turn the wheel of the world on it's guilt Crying over crumbs from the babies that we've built With our tongues and our love We are the head of the class We are the lost and happy only glove Was it the sky that we fed? I think we're moving too fast Or are we moving on? I think we're moving too.. I move ahead but my friends they are so far We all move along to the drums and the stars Everything that's good takes time in first flight These are the words that we know we should live by But we don't, we don't, we don't, we don't We are the head of the class We are the lost and happy only glove Was it the sky that we fed? I think we're moving too fast Or are we moving on? I think we're moving too fast Who's gonna call the operator? Can't stop a train without the brakes We are the head of the class We are the lost and happy only glove Was it the sky that we fed? I think we're moving too fast Or are we moving on? I think we're lost and happy all alone

If heaven is a long time I can wait Like a killer in a cannery waiting on a steak Waiting in a long line Waiting on your sweet crimes Waiting for a long time Waiting on your sweet crimes If heaven is a sinking ship in moving clouds I can make it on my own faster than the speed of sound Heaven is a seeing dog led by the bone We are blind and on our own Waiting in a long line Waiting on your sweet crimes Waiting for a long time You're banking on your sweet crimes If loving it all is the people we lost Then heaven will never give 'em back And losing it all it is easy enough When the people we love, they are leaning Against a wall so cracked That I'd have to laugh If we came back Now the weight of all my tinkering with time and lust And love and us is enough When the world feels like a crazy made-up place When people let you down Go on create your own You're waiting in a long line You're waiting on your sweet cime You're waiting for a long time You're waiting on your sweet crimes Waiting in a long line You're waiting on your sweet crimes Waiting for a long time You're banking on your sweet crimes

Empty Carz 03:01
I sit and wait for the train Counting cars but they don't last Oh they don't Red lights flashing I feel I'm passing on Any day I would trade Precious metals for oxygen But they don't last Feeling peculiar like something awful has passed And in the nights I've learned to fold All these aching suspicions back At last, for now I hold the cue cards I recite all the right words And then the moment will come when I Meet the love of my life From this shore it sounds easy, well I guess I'll count empty cars
5.
Allie Mae 04:28
Allie Mae, black eyed girl Everybody knows from the side of the road You make your money selling newspapers On Sundays you always spend the most On the wine Every time Allie Mae went to school Everybodys girl told the joke, broke the rules Princess smile, some are gone now Curtsy for the boys you can't marry now When you're two steps closer to death And you're one step closer to my door Stars they shine all day But at midnight they won't turn to Allie Mae Allie Mae sleeps in water paints This girl is too deep to be out on the streets Well I remember the card you wrote to me in second grade Was it Valentines Day? A heart for two on a life line Was it me? Was it you? And Allie Mae in her laced up boots A john is on the phone, cigarettes, mascara blues A hotel room, underwater blinds, porno on the tv, Momma's little girl make up your mind When you're two steps closer to death And you're one step closer to my door Stars they shine all day But at midnight they won't turn to Allie Mae

Mammoth 03:22
Mammoth stole my Baby She was waxing something crazy Sun beat down old lunch time light Was the last I saw of Baby's backside Mammoth stepped out Baby easy We all have something we share each When you talk about family I talk about regret And when Baby was the best one yet Mammoth call me crazy Did I really see you coming? Swimming with Jodi in the lunch time light On red sweet flowers up all night Mammoth you're always with me In my growing up you give me Power enough to identify love Power enough Mammoth stole my Baby She was talking something crazy Sun beat down old light Was the last I saw of her smile Mammoth you're always with me In my growing up you give me Power enough to forget about her Power enough Sooner or later we all meet our maker I just want more time Sooner or later we all read the paper And leave between the line

PRP 02:46
Time it takes in letting go When time has stakes Forgives the soul From here I will start From here I will go With time on my back Uninvited gull Immortal mole When you can't say no And you're cooking slow And taking turns In a world forgotten Until you see it burn And I make my mess To forget yours with wine We sleep all day destroy the night We sleep all day destroy the night Until the peaceful river people rise And everything that's supposed to fall Like the waves are gonna take you home But you're all, you're dried up And only leaves are gonna help you now But you don't know when and you don't know how In a ruined pile of It's the longest mile of But when you smile love The peaceful river people rise
8.
Dull Age 03:44
Don't blame it on your dull age Or being stuck like powdered crystal You need the water from the well just to sting you to life You need the water from the well just to bring you to fine Don't blame it on the low life Or those guarded sick opinions You keep your money in the bank somewhere you think you can hide You keep your money in the bank but the bank went dry Don't blame it on the system When we're all a part of the system Even the people in the air, the people outside The one's closest to your heart I keep you close in mind Don't blame it on your old age Or sticking to a new style You take the water from the well then you look inside You took the water from the well before you even knew why If you don't see me running brother help me out If you can see it coming brother spell it out If this is what we get then giving is all we got You're working for tomorrow but tomorrow never comes If this is what we get and giving is all we have I'd rather stick it out then be lying in the grass We can tell you that it's O.K. When everything is really not O.K. We take the water from the well when we know it's right We take the water from the well because now it's ours
9.
See my guts on the floor Are my guts enough? Yeah we're fools for light, fools for life Much further than we know it And that four letter word that you call your street It's why nobody can say it but everybody wants a piece Some are birds confused by the window crash You date moths that never leave the front porch So that nothing lasts And the bats at night that can only smell the light Go looking for dinner and they creep us out Every time they remind us of us and the fools for light Ooh, got a feeling I've already lost this time See your guts on the floor Are your guts enough? Yeah we're fools for light, fools for life Much further than we know it And that four letter word that you call your street Nobody can say it, nobody can leave Oh this time, this time I really mean it Some are birds confused by the window crash and the window pane You've dated moths that never leave the front porch So that nothing lasts And the bats at night that can only smell the light Diving in for dinner and they miss sometimes Yeah they creep us out every time They remind us of us and the fools for light Every star and rhyme got you thinking you're a criminal Ooh, got a feeling I've already lost this time Ooh, got a feeling I've already lost this light
10.
Weak Ends 04:54
I trust my weak ends to little pieces These little pieces that get you by We all want something in foreign places We all take a turn at the wheel in time The wheel If there's some right way I need direction My map's overdrawn by the shortcuts I live by Unless some step in the wrong place I float like butter Add a little heat and it all boils over Over
